about dobranski
Dobranski is Scott Doblee, a songwriter from Winnipeg, Canada. In the late 80's and early 90's Scott played bass guitar in various local thrash/punk/indie bands.
In 2008 Scott recorded and released the Dobranski-Better Years EP, featuring four acoustic guitar based arty pop-rock ditties. In the same year, Scott also made live appearances in Winnipeg before shifting his focus to recording the Dobranski-Wadena EP.
The Wadena EP builds on the acoustic foundations of the Better Years EP adding a wash of colourful electric guitar to the mix. The twang of the title track Wadena is a sweet contrast to the driving punk rock attitude on the final track Cutless. Scott is joined by his talented friends and former band mates Jamie Matsukubo, Jay Smith and Danny Stephens on the EP. The industry heavyweight beats of Toronto drummer Jason Pierce, and the backing vocals and keyboards of soulful Toronto songstress Cat Ratusny round out this eclectic four song EP release. Scott will focus on live shows in 2010.
